Parish Nursing

Welcome back from a wonderful summer, with all of its fun, garden fresh foods, and relaxing time on vacations.

The Parish Nurse Board had topics for summer safety- “Keeping Hydrated,” “Need for Sunscreen,” and “First Aid for Bites,” but now a new start for fall. Our Washington County Hospital Network kicks off Parish Nursing in September.  I am excited for another new year! We have others in our congregation who work in Health Care or related jobs. May we all come together and share our gifts and knowledge to promote heath and wellness @ PCH.

During the month of September we will have several health topics: Migraine Awareness Week, Meningitis Awareness Week, and World Alzheimer's Day.  Come and learn from the parish nursing displays, and handouts.

All are invited to come to our B/P Screening on Sunday Sept. 27th. Also, learn First Aid for Choking this Sunday.  Come during Social Hour and practice on our manikins....you could save a choking victim’s life.  A Choking Poster has been placed in both of our Kitchen Areas, a special thanks to American Red Cross, Washington County Chapter, for providing Parish Nursing with the posters.  Thank you Building & Grounds for placing them.

Do you know when or why you should call 211?  Come and learn the difference between 911 and 211.  Handouts will be available.  This is information that everyone should know!

Please continue to pray for those on our prayer list, God heals...Mind, Body and Spirit.  In Exodus15:26-27. In the original language, GOD said, " I AM YAHWEH RAPHA, the LORD WHO HEALS YOU."  RAPHA means, "to mend, to cure, to repair, to make whole."

I am looking forward to seeing everyone during our monthly Healing and Wholeness, Sunday, September 27th.

With Kindness,

Sheri
